  • We warmly welcome everyone at ‘Jai Shree Dura Nath Swamy Gaushala Chhataini. ‘Gaavo Matra Na Vidyate ’ (Sanskrit) i.e. there is no creature in this world parallel to the cow. We sincerely feel it is our duty to protect and nurture this holy animal. We have created a small place for sheltering them. We are inviting you all to partner us in this endeavour. There are various needs of these cows which needs utmost attention, love and care. We feel that there is a need to be catered with some level of expertise and sincerity. We have created an atmosphere where they can prosper and grow, and give us their blessings.

    Do You Know

    • Cow’s milk is of utmost importance. It gives us all the nutrients that are required for the growth and sustenance of our body.
    • It is a belief in Hindu culture that 33 crore Devi, Devtas reside inside the holy cow. So by serving cow, we get blessings of all these Devi, Devtas.
    • There is a difference in the quality of Milk of Indian cow compared to other cows. Indian cow is in different shape at the spine are compared to other cows. At the spinal area of the Indian cow (which is not flat) there is the existence of ‘Surya Naadi’. The slight golden colour of the milk of Indian cow is due to this naadi. This gives the milk special quality.
    • Cow is considered the member of family in India? Wherever the cow is kept in the home, it is considered as the member of family. Family members call the cow with a name, the one which they give when the cow is introduced first time to the family.
    • Why killing cow is considered a sin? If you observe closely, you will realise that cow has similar emotions like humans. Cow can feel happiness and sorrow on certain occasions. One can see tears in her eyes sometimes. Therefore killing a cow is equivalent to killing a human and also a sin.
    • Cow’s urine is very helpful against many diseases? Cow’s urine can help us protect and cure many diseases. Consuming cow’s urine every day is considered very healthy. Therefore distilled cow urine is used by many.
    • Cow dong is very useful as fertilizer and can be used to produce gas? Cow dong is very useful substance. It can be used to create biogas and the same can be used as a natural fertilizer.
    • It is a myth that cow become unproductive and economically unviable once it stops giving milk? Cow is very useful animal and we should know how to utilize the substances given by it.

We had a very humble beginning and now day by day we are establishing a strong foundation. It is our ambition to serve not only cows but also all animals and save them from injuries and slaughter houses. We are always open to associate our self with like minded people and organizations to serve this purpose. We welcome your participation in any possible manner.

    We sincerely feel that it is our duty to help this innocent animals with whatever small means. If this mission gets support from common people of society, it will no longer be a dream but a leaving reality.

    If we see our history, you will get to know that cows were never considered animal but a member of the family. We have always seen her as our mother. This is the time we should fulfil our duty for this holy animal. Our small contribution will make a lot of difference, so no amount is a small amount. Even 10 rupees a day in our donation box by thousands of people have made it possible for us to continue this service for very large scale.

  • Objective

    Sanatana Dharma and our Shastras consider Go Seva (cow-service) a great service. With this principle in mind, ‘Jai Shree Dura Nath Swamy Gaushala’ is serving cows day and night. It is the one of its kind Goshala of the Rewa region located at Chhataini. The devotees and volunteers get to serve more than 100 cows here. The devotees are impressed upon visiting the Goshala and the activities that constantly go on in its huge premises. There are a lot of arrangements for the service of Go Mata in this Goshala. They take care of every need of the cows. Jai Shree Dura Nath Swamy Gaushala has made special arrangements for the helpless, orphaned and injured cows which roam Chhataini. It has made special arrangements for curing the injured cows.

    Sanatana Dharma gives special importance to charity. Goswami Tulsidas has written in Ramcharit Manas, there will be special importance of charity and the name of Rama in Kaliyuga. Following this tradition, and for the convenience of the devotees, the Gaushala has made special arrangements for those devotees who want to offer fodder, jaggery to cows. There are also arrangements who want to perform Godaan (donate cows). Fresh green fodder is always available for the devotees to offer to the cows. The devotees can also organize bhandaras(feasts) at auspicious occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and other important incidents. They can also serve Gomata by taking part in schemes involving Gau Chikitsa (medical care of cows), Gollak Peti (a fund for the welfare of the cows), Gau-Graas (a program of feeding fodder to the cows) etc.
